Swiatek has now made the third round in each of the last 27 Grand Slam tournaments on the WTA Tour.

Since her second-round exit at the 2019 US Open, Swiatek has appeared at every major event and has not failed to reach at least the third round.

The only two players in the Open Era with more consecutive third-round appearances are Martina Navratilova and Conchita Martinez.

Swiatek has not had the best of years at Grand Slams in 2026, having made just one quarterfinal, which she managed at the Australian Open.

She was knocked out in the fourth round of the French Open and suffered a third-round exit at Wimbledon.

After her Wimbledon title defence came to a disappointing end in the third round, Swiatek bounced back during the hard-court season.

She clinched her 12th WTA 1000 title at the Canadian Open before making the semifinals of the Cincinnati Open.

“For it was great,” said Swiatek, reflecting on the North American swing during her on-court interview after beating Podoroska.

“I’m here with a better feeling than at any other Grand Slam this year.

“I’m just trying to enjoy each day, improve the game every day to play better and better, and I’m happy that I’m going to have another opportunity to play here.”

Swiatek, who won the title in 2022, has been knocked out of the US Open in the quarterfinals for the past two years.
