When the Presidents Cup rosters were announced at the beginning of this month, there was much skepticism regarding the inclusion of the tour’s hottest young player, Jackson Koivun. He emerged and proved the hype was real, departing Auburn University at the end of the collegiate season and winning his first professional event shortly after at the 3M Open.
The decision to feature him on the Presidents Cup team was a risky one, but one that paid off handsomely for captain Brandt Snedeker and the US squad. He went 2–0–1 over the event, including a decisive victory over International star Si Woo Kim during Sunday singles.
