Josh Hokit ripped into Alex Pereira for wanting a rematch against Ciryl Gane, while also suggesting who the Brazilian should fight next.
At UFC Freedom 250, Pereira took on Gane in for the Interim Heavyweight Championship, in what was also his heavyweight debut.
In only the second round of the fight, ‘Poatan’ was TKOed by Gane even as the Frenchman won the Interim Heavyweight belt for the second time.
However, Pereira, after the fight, felt that he was hard done by referee Herb Dean. The 39-year-old claimed that Dean had let Gane get away with his alleged back of the head strikes, and has been campaigning for a rematch ever since.
And more recently, in a video he shared on Instagram, Pereira once again expressed his desire to fight Gane again, adding that it ‘is the fight that makes sense.’

Josh Hokit Feels Alex Pereira Wanting to rematch Ciryl Gane Makes ‘no Sense’
In the wake of this, surging UFC heavyweight Josh Hokit, who is ranked #6 in the rankings, ripped into Alex Pereira for wanting to rematch Ciryl Gane.
Claiming that the fight makes ‘no sense,’ Hokit played matchmaker for the Brazilian, suggesting that he should fight Sergei Pavlovich instead. He also explained why the Russian is a ‘more favorable’ match up for ‘Poatan.’ Taking to X, Hokit wrote:
As a fan, that fight makes no f*cking sense. I watched you get demolished. How about a more favorable match up like Sergei who is basically a striker & way less athletic than Ciryl. How about you get one f*cking win in this weight class before you are gifted another title shot.
