Steph Curry has reaffirmed his desire to stay with the Golden State Warriors for the rest of his NBA career.
The Golden State Warriors failed to get past the Play-In tournament in 2026, and it was a relief to see them put out of their misery. The team’s season effectively ended when Jimmy Butler tore his ACL in January.
The team’s offseason was underwhelming, and the team is set to run it back in 2026-27. Despite being rank outsiders entering the season, four-times NBA champion Steph Curry says he has no plans to ever leave.
Curry appeared on CNBC and was asked if he might be tempted to follow the LeBron James route, after the superstar switched the LA Lakers for Philadelphia 76ers.
Having been with the Warriors his entire career, Curry says there is no temptation to leave: “Not at all. I’ve always stated that I wanna be a lifer with Golden State… My mission is to stay in Golden State and be competitive, the contract stuff will take care of itself.”

Kendrick Perkins calls out Mike Dunleavy
Steph Curry’s loyalty is admirable, and so is his ambition to win championships. But nobody really gives the Warriors much of a chance this year.
Speaking to NBA Today on ESPN, Kendrick Perkins called out GM Mike Dunleavy for failing to land LeBron James or Giannis Antetokounmpo. He is demanding that Curry be surrounded with more talent to give him a chance in his twilight years.
Perkins said: “Steph Curry is the greatest Bay Area player to ever get his feet hot, and loyalty in today’s game… you don’t see that from players.
“The fact that Steph Curry has been riding with them over the last three or four years, knowing that he wants to win a championship, to me, what this interview said to me is, Mike Dunleavy, you have to do your damn job. Let’s be honest.
“I don’t want to keep hearing about reports that the Warriors are in the hunt, the Warriors are in the mix, they was in the mix to get Giannis. They want to go out there get LeBron. Why are you not landing them?
“We’re talking about Steph Curry… Mike Dunleavy has to have some type of accountability to make sure that he puts the pieces [together] and do his damn job to surround Steph, Draymond and Steve Kerr with a championship roster to be able to compete.”
The only consolation for the Warriors is that Giannis and LeBron both landed in the Eastern Conference. But the West is still stacked with competitors, and the bar was raised to a high level last season with the San Antonio Spurs knocking off the Thunder.
It is hard to see the Warriors putting up much of a fight, and it is also tough to see where they might turn for help.
