Linda Noskova will meet Karolina Muchova in an all-Czech Wimbledon final on Saturday, July 11.

After Muchova defeated Coco Gauff in a three-set thriller, Noskova took down Marta Kostyuk, 6-4, 6-4, to reach her maiden Grand Slam final.

During her post-match press conference, Noskova was asked for her thoughts on Muchova.

Linda Noskova says she got to know Karolina Muchova well at the 2024 Olympics

“Yeah, well, we had never really met before until a couple of years ago, as I came on tour,” said Noskova.

“But she’s a great player, great person.

“Especially, we got to know each other a lot during the Olympics a couple of years ago.

“We spent a lot of time together because we played doubles and almost got the medal.

“I feel like that was the main week for us to kind of get to know each other.

“I didn’t really know her well before. So yeah, that was the main event.”

Muchova and Noskova impressed in Paris two years ago, reaching the doubles semi-finals, where they lost to the eventual champions, Sara Errani and Jasmine Paolini.

They then lost to the Spanish duo of Sara Sorribes Tormo and Cristina Bucsa in the bronze medal match.

She did, of course, know of Muchova before they played together at the Olympics, having supported her countrywoman when she met Iga Swiatek in the French Open final a year earlier.

“Yeah, I was watching it,” said Noskova.

“I was obviously cheering for Karolina [Muchova]!

“I always like to see any fellow Czech players have any success.”

Muchova lost the French Open final three years ago, but will be determined to get her hands on her first major title this time around.

Noskova may have something to say about that, though, given how well she has played so far this tournament.

Linda Noskova’s route to the Wimbledon final

  • 1R [WIN] vs Ella Seidel, 6-4, 6-3
  • 2R [WIN] vs Camila Osorio, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2

  • QF [WIN] vs (25) Elise Mertens, 6-3, 7-5
  • SF [WIN] vs (12) Marta Kostyuk, 6-4, 6-4

After surviving a tense match tiebreak against Sorana Cirstea in round three, Noskova hasn’t dropped a set, proving too strong for Madison Keys, Elise Mertens, and Marta Kostyuk.

Muchova, on the other hand, has required a deciding set twice in the second week, although in her defence, she has played three Grand Slam champions in her last three matches.

Both players will arrive on Centre Court for the final in good form, feeling confident about their chances of winning the Wimbledon title.

Linda Noskova and Karolina Muchova can join legendary Czech list with Wimbledon win

A new Czech Wimbledon champion will be crowned on Saturday.

When Noskova or Muchova lift the Venus Rosewater Dish after the final, they will become the fifth Czech woman to have won the Wimbledon women’s singles title.

But perhaps more remarkably, they will become the third Czech to win Wimbledon in the last four years.

Czech Wimbledon winners (women’s singles)

  • Jana Novotna – 1998
  • Petra Kvitova – 2011, 2014
  • Marketa Vondrousova – 2023
  • Barbora Krejcikova – 2024
  • Linda Noskova/Karolina Muchova – 2026

A nation with a population of just over 10 million people can’t stop producing Wimbledon champions!

The question is, who will the fifth Czech champion be? Noskova or Muchova…
