Co-hosts Mexico are set to face off against South Korea in their second World Cup group stage match, as they look to confirm their spot in the knockout stages of the tournament.

Both sides started on the right foot with a victory, with Mexico beating South Africa in the competition’s curtain raiser, while South Korea triumphed 2-1 over Czechia in their first match.

A win for either side would confirm the victor’s spot in the next phase of the tournament, following Czechia’s 1-1 draw with South Africa earlier tonight.

Mexico vs South Korea predictions

The co-hosts are in a great position to progress to the next round of the World Cup after starting the tournament with a win over South Africa.

However, they face stern opponents in the shape of South Korea, who showed their resilience as they came from behind to win 2-1 win over Czechia.

The match being played in the Estadio Akron in the city of Guadalajara gives Mexico the home advantage, which could help them pick up their second win of the tournament.

Either way, things will almost certainly be a little tougher than it was for them against Bafana Bafana.

The bookmakers have Mexico as the favourites for this one, and understandably so, but the South Koreans aren’t to be underestimated, with a very strong squad of their own capable of upsetting anyone on their day.
