Modern Warfare 4’s devs have promised to fix Captain Price’s botched haircut, which went viral during the beta.
The MW4 beta kicked off on August 21, and the devs have been addressing issues with spawns, TTK, and weapon balance, but now they’re working on something nobody could have predicted – Captain Price’s hairline.
When viewing the Captain Price Operator at the game’s lowest settings, he looks nothing like the fan-favorite Task Force 141 leader. His hair becomes thin and scraggly, and his beard doesn’t look much better. It quickly went viral, with players roasting the new look.
“Captain Price: Bravo 6 requesting my sh*t f**ked up over,” joked one player.
“That ain’t captain Price that’s lieutenant Cost,” said another tweet. “That ain’t price that’s amount” echoed someone else. There are tons of tweets similar to this, calling him names such as “sergeant discounts” and “private bill.”

It’s clear Price isn’t meant to look like that on the lower graphics settings, with the CallofDutyCM X/Twitter account confirming, “We’re aware of an issue with Price’s hair not appearing correctly when viewed at the lowest level of detail. The team will be addressing it in a future update.”
“Ultimately this will not be an issue if players meet our recommended specs,” they said.

It’s now on Infinity Ward’s Trello board of known issues, with “Captain Price’s hair does not appear correctly when viewing his character model at the lowest level of detail” listed as under investigation.
There’s no timeline on when Price’s hairline might be fixed, but the Open Beta arrives on August 28, and then the game fully launches on October 23. However, Campaign Early Access goes live on October 16, so hopefully it’s fixed before then.
