Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has poken fun at teammates Gavi and Pedri after the two dyed their hair. Both Gavi and Pedri changed their hair colour after helping Spain win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Gavi promised to dye his hair pink if La Roja had won the 2026 FIFA World Cup and kept his word. Meanwhile, fellow midfielder Pedri dyed his hair white after helping Spain become the world champions for the second time.

In a video shared by Barcelona’s official X handle, Yamal was seen mocking the two midfielders. He said:

“Behind me, new strawberry and cream Chupa Chups. Look behind!”

Lamine Yamal also made a promise if he could help Spain win the 2026 FIFA World Cup but is yet to keep it. He said that he would keep his beard and moustache for three weeks. He said, via Barca Blaugranes:

“I promise that if I win the World Cup I’ll grow my beard and moustache for three weeks.”

Lamine Yamal has already won almost everything for club and country and is still just 19 years of age. He has won LaLiga thrice, Copa del Rey once, Supercopa de Espana twice while winning the UEFA European Championship and FIFA World Cup with Spain.

The youngster was also named the Ballon d’Or runner-up in 2025 and is already regarded as one of the best players in the world. He has made 151 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 49 times and providing 52 assists.

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick to use Lamine Yamal in Messi-esque position

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly looking to use wonderkid Lamine Yamal in a Lionel Messi-esque role next season. He is reportedly set to deploy the young winger in a central position in the absence of a natural centre forward.

Flick reportedly believes that the 19-year-old could thrive as a false nine just like Lionel Messi did during his time at Camp Nou. Barcelona lost both Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres this summer with the two joining Chicago Fire and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), respectively. The former left after his contract expiry wwhile Torres left for a reported €50 million fee.

The Catalan giants have been desperate to land Julian Alvarez throughout the summer but have failed to reach an agreement with Atletico Madrid. They have solid options out wide in Raphinha, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi which means Lamine Yamal could certainly be deployed centrally.
