Popular Twitch streamer QTCinderella is taking legal action against accounts using clips from her streams to ‘hate farm’ and harass her.
QT announced the move in a lengthy X post on May 28, 2026, nearly a month after taking a hiatus from social media following the death of her beloved pet dog, Swift.
In her post, the streamer said she came back online to see “parasitic” and “bad faith clip accounts” hate-farming her by using “innocent clips” from her streams to create false narratives.
To combat this issue, QT says she will now start issuing DMCA takedowns for “any disingenuous or malicious use” of her content.
“This is not something I have EVER done,” she wrote. “But it is something that I am setting my boundary on. Call me a b**ch or pathetic, whatever you want for taking legal action. I am done with the bullsh*t.”
She went on to encourage her fans to tag any accounts engaging in this practice to help save her legal team some time, with viewers largely praising this decision.
Uptick in clip-farming accounts sparks response from X
While the act of clip-farming itself is nothing new, the veracity and degree to which it’s been happening over the last few months has sparked similar responses from other content creators.
In April 2026, Jasontheween expressed plans to take legal action against a specific X account for accusing him and fellow streamer Pokimane of being directly involved in the D4vd murder case, as both streamers had collaborated with the music artist in the past.
However, it appears these plans were dropped after the account deleted those posts, with Pokimane claiming in a broadcast that they were unlikely to continue pursuing the matter.
Other accounts on X have begun posting clips of creators with entirely fabricated quotes and claims, prompting intense community noting from concerned users.
To combat this, the platform is now identifying these types of posts and reallocating any impressions “entirely” to their original creators, as per X’s head of product, Nikita Bier.
It remains unclear if other content creators will follow in QT’s footsteps, given the recent uptick in this type of posting across social media.
