Sandhills Community College Beach Volleyball announced the signing of Giorgia Nova Boggio from Pinecrest High School to the Flyer family.
“A 5’4″ defender, Boggio brings energy, positivity, and a passion for the game to the Sandhills beach program,” said SCC. “She has played volleyball for five years and is excited to transition from indoor volleyball to the beach game at the collegiate level. She plans to pursue an Associate of Science degree in Biology at SCC.”
Boggio chose Sandhills because of her love for volleyball and the strong connection she felt with the Flyers’ coaching staff throughout the recruiting process. She shared that the support and encouragement she received made Sandhills feel like the right fit both athletically and personally.
While at Pinecrest, Boggio stayed active through ROTC community service, continuing to build leadership and teamwork skills off the court. She is looking forward to learning new techniques, becoming more comfortable on the sand, and continuing to grow as a player and teammate.
Boggio says her favorite part of beach volleyball is competing on the sand, which reminds her of home in Peru and brings her joy every day she plays.
“We are beyond excited to have Giorgia joining our beach volleyball program,” said Flyers Head Coach Alicia Riggan. “Her energy, positive attitude, skill set, and ability to be an awesome teammate make her a perfect fit for the Flyers. We can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make on and off the sand.”
