Snoop Dogg is searching for someone to spend three months tasting ice cream and tracking dessert trends around the world, with the successful applicant set to earn $30,000.
The rapper launched the worldwide search for an International Ice Cream Taster on August 27 for his Dr. Bombay ice cream brand. The position pays $10,000 per month under a three-month independent contractor agreement, with hiring and payments handled through global workforce platform Deel.
Applications are open worldwide, and candidates do not need a culinary degree or professional food critic experience.
While the role is described as remote, the successful applicant will explore frozen desserts, different cultures, unusual flavor combinations, and emerging food trends before reporting their findings to Dr. Bombay.
Snoop Dogg wants his ice cream taster to help find new flavors
“Hold on now! I’m hiring an international ice cream taster,” Snoop said while announcing the position, confirming the $10,000 monthly pay and encouraging applicants outside the US to apply.
“I love the paper, but not the paperwork,” he added while explaining that Deel would handle the international hiring process.
Dr. Bombay summarizes the job with four commands: “Taste. Travel. Discover. Report.” Along with tasting frozen desserts, the successful applicant will monitor viral food trends, create social-first content and help develop ideas for future flavors, campaigns and brand experiences.
The company says it is not looking for an “old-school, stuffy food critic.” Creators, food enthusiasts, marketers, students, entrepreneurs, journalists and chefs are among those encouraged to apply, including candidates from unconventional professional backgrounds.
Applicants must speak English, have a valid passport, and be available for the full three months. Additional languages, social media experience and an interest in entrepreneurship or brand building are considered advantages.
The successful candidate will receive $10,000 per month for a total contract value of $30,000 and can receive payments into a local bank account in their local currency. Snoop’s team is expected to review finalists, with Snoop himself expected to call the person ultimately selected.
Dr. Bombay launched in US stores in July 2023, initially rolling out through 3,500 Walmart locations. The brand has since expanded its distribution while continuing to develop new ice cream flavors.
Applications remain open as of September 4. Interest has already been substantial, with Deel temporarily displaying a message saying the application site was experiencing a “meltdown” due to the volume of submissions.
Snoop isn’t the only one offering a hefty paycheck for someone to taste food. Earlier in 2026, Wendy’s began searching for a “Chief Tasting Officer,” offering a $100,000 salary to eat its food, create content and potentially appear in advertisements.
The role also involved producing vlog check-ins and content around Wendy’s menu items, with applicants asked to submit a video showing off their tasting skills, creativity, and personality.
