OG YouTuber Tomska revealed that he accidentally gave himself tinnitus while filming a video that he never ended up releasing. Now, he says the condition has ‘doubled’ in volume.
Tomska has been on YouTube for a grand total of 20 years, with his channel first being created in 2006.
He’s garnered over 7.5 million subscribers in the two decades since then, many of whom came for his popular ‘ASDF Movie’ animated video series.
Tomska does more than animations, though; he’s also known for his comedic real-life content, some of which has had adverse effects on his health.
Tomska says he gave himself tinnitus in never-released video
As told in a tweet on June 1, 2026, Tomska revealed that he filmed a video 15 years ago where he set off a firework right next to his head.
The stunt left him with “mild tinnitus” in his left ear — but as of May 2026, it “abruptly doubled in volume.”
“F**k you, past me, you stupid dumb idiot,” he joked.
What’s more, Tomska says the video never ended up getting uploaded, with the YouTuber joking that the shot wasn’t “even good.”
In his post, Tomska posted a screenshot of the bit being filmed against a greenscreen, showing himself grimacing as an object explodes in his hand.
Viewers are equal parts distressed and impressed by the ordeal, with one remarking that it was lucky he only got tinnitus instead of more grievous firework-related injuries as seen on Season 2 episodes of The Pitt.
“Show past you who’s boss by releasing the footage and making like 20p in ad revenue from it,” one commenter joked.
“‘Do it for the bit/views/vine/yolo’ has passed its expiry date, and now we’re suffering the consequences,” another wrote.
Tomska is the latest content creator to open up about his health issues after longtime Call of Duty YouTuber Drift0r revealed he is suffering from a mysterious health condition that is slowly affecting his joints and impacting his ability to create videos.
