CM Punk has cemented himself as one of the pivotal figures in WWE currently. Could the promotion suddenly make a decision he won’t like by bringing in an AEW star he is not a fan of?
The Straight Edge Superstar did not have the best of departures in the Jacksonville-based promotion as he was fired following his backstage incident with Jack Perry. A few months later, he made his long-awaited return to WWE after a little more than a decade and has been on one of the best runs of his career since.
It was recently reported that Perry’s AEW contract is set to come to an end soon. But he is currently in negotiations for the promotion. But what if they don’t come to an agreement? Triple H could come in as an unexpected frontrunner and show interest in the former TNT Champion. He would be an interesting addition to the roster, but the one thing that could stop this from happening is CM Punk.
WWE could decide to bring in Jack Perry, but put him far away from Punk to prevent any incidents from taking place. They could also go a different direction, and take measures to help them squash whatever grudges they have with one another. They could also use their real-life heat to pair them up in a feud. This could be an interesting move that would shock the wrestling world.
Jack Perry recently fired a subtle shot at CM Punk
Following CM Punk’s absence from the Stamford-based promotion, there have been discussions about the likelihood of him leaving the company and returning to AEW. It has been reported that those internally believe the bridges between the two parties are not burnt.
Jack Perry suddenly took to Instagram then and posted a drawing of a bridge burning. It is safe to assume that he is not a fan of CM Punk returning to the company.
Although it is unlikely that Jack Perry will leave AEW to sign with WWE, you can never say never. The same can be said about the idea of Punk becoming All-Elite once more in the future. Fans should stay tuned for any developments for these two unlikely scenarios.
