Roman Kopylov turned in one of the best wins of his career earlier tonight (Sat., Oct. 3, 2026) at UFC 332 LIVE on Paramount+/CBS from inside Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, stunning middleweight prospect Ateba Gautier with a punishing first-round TKO (punches).
Gautier was a sizeable betting favorite heading into UFC 332’s main card curtain jerker and for good reason. The middleweight striker has displayed insane power inside of the Octagon and appeared to be on the fast track to a top 15 matchup. The only issue was that he was running into a super technical striker in Kopylov so if Gautier wasn’t able to land his heralded knockout power early it was going to be a long night.
Unfortunately for Gautier, Kopylov was dialed in from the opening bell. Whether he was landing clean lead jabs or threatening with kicks from range, the Russian veteran never put himself in serious danger and always stayed in control. Gautier eventually got clipped, toppled to the canvas, and was in serious trouble. Kopylov rushed in for hammer fists to cap off the big-time upset.
