Salahdine Parnasse is ready for his first UFC fight.
The former two-division KSW champion successfully made weight at Friday’s official weigh-ins for the main event of UFC Paris, registering at 155 pounds. His opponent, popular lightweight Dan Hooker, also came in at championship weight.
Parnasse makes his long-awaited UFC debut six months after competing in the United States for the first time when he scored a first-round knockout of Kenneth Cross at the inaugural MVP MMA event in Inglewood, Calif. The Frenchman previously starred for Poland’s KSW promotion, where he held gold at lightweight and featherweight, logging seven total successful championship defenses.
He looks to make an immediate splash in the contender picture when he takes on Hooker, a veteran of 24 UFC fights. Hooker is on a two-fight losing streak and looks to avoid taking a third straight loss for the first time in his career.
