Usman Nurmagomedov has taken a dig at Jon Jones and the former two-division UFC champion’s protege, Gable Steveson.
Sean Sharaf knocked out Steveson in just 12 seconds at UFC 331 this past weekend.
During fight week, the 26-year-old faced significant backlash from fans after Sharaf brought up Steveson’s controversial past, and things got worse after the Olympic gold medalist was sent to the shadow realm.
At UFC 331, fans heavily booed Steveson, and they also criticized him for leaving the octagon without staying to watch Sharaf get his hand raised.
Now, Usman Nurmagomedov has also seized the opportunity to mock Steveson and the latter’s close friend, coach, and mentor, Jon Jones.
Earlier today, while reposting Jones’ cageside reaction to Steveson’s KO loss, Usman Nurmagomedov quipped:
“You know what a boomerang is, Jon? Sh*t happens. Good luck to your boyfriend in the future!”

At UFC Shanghai, when Usman’s brother Umar was knocked out cold by Song Yadong, “Kung Fu Kid” celebrated with Jon Jones immediately after the fight.
Jones also had some back-and-forth online with two-division UFC champion Islam Makhachev, who is a close friend and teammate of the undefeated PFL champion.
Jon Jones says he decided to take Gable Steveson “straight to the back” after UFC 331 KO loss
Earlier today, Jon Jones posted on X, confessing that at UFC 331, after his friend Gable Steveson was knocked out, he decided to take the 26-year-old out of the octagon immediately rather than sticking around to watch “The Smoke” get his hand raised.
Jones posted on X, narrating why he wanted to take Steveson backstage ASAP:
“I’ve seen some reports online, and I really wanted to clear the air. It was my decision to take Gable straight to the back after the fight. Honestly, it was the first time in this situation for me, and my instant reaction was to get my friend to the back to make sure he was ok. Gable’s work ethic and will to win is there, and I stand by him and believe he will go on to be one of the best heavyweights in the UFC. He will be back I’m sure of it.”
