WWE is planning for a major deal next year and it will be for a blockbuster event. The conversations are underway and Nick Khan is leading the charge.

Over the last few years, since the company’s merger with TKO, WWE has been conducting shows around the world. From France to Australia to Saudi Arabia, they have been entertaining fans and the company is well and truly a global brand right now.

With Crown Jewel coming up in Saudi Arabia in a few days, it appears that talks are underway for an event to be held in Tokyo Japan. This was revealed by TKO president Mark Shapiro at a Q3 earnings call. The TKO supremo revealed that he is very bullish on the prospect and that Nick Khan is one ensuring that the talks go smoothly.

He said:

“I think I’m also pretty bullish about some conversations that Nick Khan is having about bringing WWE to Tokyo next year. So more to come. No deals done, but the, the runway is open and we have clearance.” [H/T Alpha Street]

Mark Shapiro says risk ahead of WWE Crown Jewel is minimal

On the same call, Mark Shapiro was also asked about Crown Jewel being held in Saudi Arabia and the current security situation in the region. He assured that the risk is extremely minimal and that there is nothing to worry about.

“Look, I would tell you that the risk is extremely minimal. I think we’ve endured the tough climb thus far this year, right? We’ve had no events interrupted. We’ve staged all of our events in the Middle East flawlessly. We have 3 events left this year, one being November 7th with the Crown Jewel, which should be a big one for us. We are all systems go,” he said.

It seems like everything is under control and the event in Riyadh is set to go ahead as planned.
