Alexandra Eala has wrapped up her time in Manila, where she received a hero’s welcome after her run at Wimbledon.

Eala reached the round of 16 at the prestigious tournament in London, representing her best-ever run at a Grand Slam.

The 21-year-old did lose her doubles opener with Nikola Bartunkova, but that was quickly forgotten about thanks to her superb Wimbledon singles run.

Eala now switches her focus from grass courts to hard courts, but has first issued an emotional message to those who turned up for her homecoming tour in the Philippines.

Alexandra Eala shares pride at representing the Philippines after her Wimbledon run

Sharing an image of herself signing autographs, the WTA star posted on her Instagram story: “That’s a wrap on Manila.

“Each and every one of your stories has touched me on a profound level.

“I leave with a refreshed memory of what I carry when I’m out there playing tennis.

“And wow is it a privilege to be part of something bigger than myself.

“Never been prouder to represent home.”

It’s a lovely touch from Eala, who is clearly feeling a lot of pride at representing her nation on the big stage.

And she can certainly hold her head high in that regard after Wimbledon, where she became the first player from the Philippines to reach a Grand Slam round of 16.

How does Alexandra Eala’s 2026 compare to her WTA career?

Eala wants to continue representing the Philippines positively, first and foremost in the North American hard court swing.

It has been a busy few weeks for the youngster on and off the court, but further success is now on the cards at various tournaments.

2026 Career

0 Titles 0
30/18 Win/loss 224/135
$1,285,330 Prize money $2,649,015

She will take on the Washington Open first later this month, before heading to Toronto, Cincinnati and New York for the US Open in August.

Eala should be full of confidence heading into those tournaments, but making the transition from grass to hard courts certainly won’t be an easy task.
