Draper will return at the Washington Open, for which he has received a wildcard, but he has made another very interesting scheduling decision in the build-up to the US Open.

Jack Draper set to play ATP Challenger Brownsburg

In a very surprising move, Draper has been confirmed in the entry list for the ATP Challenger Brownsburg event.

The former British number one, who is now sixth in his nation’s rankings, is a direct entrant into the field for the Indiana tournament.

It is set to take place from August 10-16, during which the ATP Masters 1000 Montreal (August 2-13) and the ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati (August 13-23) are scheduled.

The Winston-Salem Open follows in the ATP calendar from August 23-29, before the US Open returns on August 30th.

Draper’s fellow Britons Billy Harris and Jack Pinnington Jones are also in the ATP Challenger Brownsburg entry list, along with the likes of American Nishesh Basavareddy and Australian Bernard Tomic.

While eyes are constantly focused on Draper’s efforts at Wimbledon, it has historically represented his worst Grand Slam.

In stark contrast, he has enjoyed most success at the US Open, most notably reaching the semifinals in 2024.

It was a sensational run from the British ace, who was defeated only by Jannik Sinner before he went on to lift the trophy.

But injuries mean Draper is in a much different state right now, although he has still managed to impress when given the opportunity.

He may hold an 8-5 record for the 2026 season, but the 24-year-old reached the Eastbourne semifinals and the Indian Wells quarterfinals, defeating Novak Djokovic in the latter.

However, his current ranking means he has now missed out on a spot in the US Open entry list, with Draper likely needing to come through qualifying in New York.

His fellow Britons Arthur Fery, Cameron Norrie and Jan Choinski are all in the main draw already, along with Emma Raducanu and Katie Boulter.
