Victoria Azarenka recently ended her long social media silence to reveal the details of her personal life in an emotional message. As she celebrated her 37th birthday, the Belarusian star took the opportunity to talk about her life away from the public eye and the ‘incredibly meaningful’ moments she has experienced of late.
Azarenka made her debut on the WTA Tour more than two decades ago in 2003. Since then, she has gone on to establish herself as one of Belarus’ most successful tennis stars, winning two Australian Open titles, an Olympic gold medal and being ranked No.1 in the world for 51 weeks.
Thanks for the submission!
Recently, Victoria Azarenka celebrated her 37th birthday and took the opportunity to pen and emotional note, writing on X,
“This birthday felt different. On my drive home after Pilates today, I caught myself thinking about how special it is to simply be surrounded by family and friends. I asked both my mom and my dad when the last time was that we were all together for my birthday, and none of us could remember. That made today feel even more meaningful.”
She went on to extend her gratitude for her life, adding,
“I’ve also spent some time away from the public eye recently, and it’s given me the chance to enjoy quiet moments, private moments, and family moments that I haven’t really been able to experience since I was very young. Those moments have become incredibly meaningful to me. To everyone who took the time to send me birthday wishes—thank you. Every message meant a lot, and I’m truly grateful. ❤️”
Prior to this note, Azarenka had largely disappeared from the public eye, taking an indefinite hiatus from the WTA Tour and staying away from social media.
