Robin Montgomery has won the biggest title of her career.
The American youngster, ranked 484th on the WTA Tour, has won the Libema Open title by default following the withdrawal of Barbora Krejcikova.
It has been a remarkable week for the 21-year-old American, who dropped just two sets throughout her six matches across qualifying and the main draw.

Krejcikova, the 2024 Wimbledon Ladies Singles champion, revealed the reason behind her withdrawal in a message relayed on the Libema Open’s social media.
Barbora Krejcikova’s message following her Libema Open final withdrawal
“I’m sorry to announce that I have to withdraw from today’s Libéma Open final due to illness,” a message from the Czech star read on the Libema Open’s X page.
“I have been feeling unwell and after consulting with the medical team it has become clear that I am not in a condition to compete today.

“I was really looking forward to the opportunity to play in the final and compete for the title, but today it’s not possible.
“I would like to thank the tournament organisers, volunteers, sponsors, and the incredible fans in
‘s-Hertogenbosch for their support throughout the week.
“I have enjoyed my time at the Libéma Open and am grateful for the warm welcome I have received.
“I would also like to congratulate Robin for a great week here and wish her the very best for the rest of the season,” Krejcikova continued.
“I am disappointed to end my tournament this way, but I will focus on recovering as quickly as possible and look forward to returning to competition soon.”
Who is currently the best grass-court player on the WTA Tour?
This development really is a bitter blow for Krejcikova, who has dealt with various physical ailments since winning her second Grand Slam singles title at the 2024 Wimbledon Championships.
The Czech star missed most of the 2025 season due to back and knee injuries, playing just nine events during the campaign.
She then suffered another injury in February this year and was forced to spend three months on the sidelines.
One hopes that the Czech player’s latest setback is not too serious, and that she can return to competitive play soon.
Robin Montgomery’s gigantic rankings leap
Montgomery has achieved an unbelievable feat by winning the Libema Open.
The American was ranked 484th on the Tour, yet she managed to come through qualifying and defeat the likes of Daria Snigur and Alja Tomljanovic in the Netherlands.
Following her efforts in ’s-Hertogenbosch, Montgomery is set to gain 268 WTA ranking points.
