Texas basketball signee Bo Ogden is one of 19 finalists for the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team, USA Basketball announced Saturday. Finalists were selected by the USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team committee from among 32 athletes following three days of training camp at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Training camp will continue for the next several days; the 12-member team will be announced before it departs for the 2026 FIBA U18 Men’s AmeriCup scheduled for June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.
In addition to Ogden, the finalists for the 2026 USA Basketball Men’s U18 National Team are Davion Adkins, Reese Alston, Tarris Bouie, Bruce Branch III, Quentin Coleman, Adan Diggs, Caleb Gaskins, Demarcus Henry, Josh Irving, Jasiah Jervis, Malachi Jordan, Taylen Kinney, Colben Landrew, J’Lon Lyons, Baba Oladotun, Ethan Taylor, Davion Thompson and Darrius Wabbington.
Ogden has previous experience with USA Basketball. He won a gold medal when he helped the USA 3×3 Men’s U18 National Team win the FIBA U18 World Cup in Hungary in August 2024.
Ogden, a 6-foot-5 guard from Westlake High School, was recently named Mr. Basketball for the state of Texas by the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches and earned the American-Statesman’s Central Texas player of the year award. He helped lead Westlake to a 32-7 record and a runner-up finish in the Class 6A Division II state tournament by averaging 22.0 points and 7.5 rebounds while hitting 40% from 3-point range and 84% from the free-throw line. He also was named District 26-6A’s MVP, Class 6A all-state and garnered mention on the UIL’s Class 6A boys academic all-state team.
As a junior at St. Michael’s in Austin, Ogden hit the game-winning shot at the buzzer to lift St. Michael’s to a 50-48 victory over Dallas Parish Episcopal in the TAPPS Class 6A state championship game.
Ogden, a four-star recruit per 247Sports’ composite rankings and the son of Texas basketball general manager Chris Ogden, will join the Longhorns’ four-player 2026 class along with five-star recruit Austin Goosby from Melissa, Joe Sterling from Los Angeles and Austin native Coleman Elkins, who played at St. Andrew’s before spending this season at Blair Academy in New Jersey. Texas’ 2026 class is ranked No. 12 in the nation.
After reaching the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament under first-year coach Sean Miller, Texas has reloaded in the transfer portal. The Longhorns signed former St. Mary’s guard Mikey Lewis, former Auburn wing Elyjah Freeman, former Tennessee guard Amari Evans, former TCU power forward David Punch and former Colorado guard Isaiah Johnson in an impressive transfer class that ranks No. 3 in 247Sports’ composite ratings.
