Darren Till is hoping Conor McGregor will retire after suffering another injury in his UFC 329 loss to Max Holloway.

McGregor suffered a knee injury just seconds into his rematch with Max Holloway, and the bout was called due to the injury. It was a frustrating result, but the Irishman has vowed to make his return next International Fight Week. However, Till believes McGregor should listen to his body and retire from the sport.

“I like it but the thing with Conor [is] he’s made a lot of money,” Till told The Independent. “He probably doesn’t still need it but he probably wants it because it’s hard for him to leave the sport behind and he’s a fighter’s fighter. I do get it but sometimes it’s probably best to just let it go. If Conor’s getting injured like that in the first few seconds of a fight, he should probably be listening to his body. But again, the one thing with Conor, he’s got more than enough money to get seen to and to get all the best procedures, so who knows, he might come back a better man, he might not. We’ll see.”

McGregor has suffered a couple of injuries now, as he broke his leg in the trilogy match against Dustin Poirier. Then, he had to pull out of his fight against Michael Chandler due to a toe injury, before suffering a knee injury against Holloway.

Darren Till would love to face Conor McGregor in BFKC

Although Till believes McGregor should retire, it’s unclear if he will.

Conor McGregor has one fight left on his UFC contract, and if he completes it, he can explore other options on his own. That could include fighting in BKFC, and Till would like to fight him if he does compete in the promotion that he part-owns.

“If it’s ever on the cards for me and Conor, I’d happily take it,” Till said, with bare-knuckle boxing potentially a smart option for McGregor to spare his legs any further punishment. He’s obviously got a share in the company, he can obviously pick and choose who he wants to fight. If ever that day comes and he wants to fight me, then we’ll glove up – or we won’t glove up, because it’ll just be fists.”

As for Till, he’s set to take on Yoel Romero at BKFC 94 on September 26 in Manchester, England.
