FURIA have locked in a spot in Sunday’s final of the IEM Cologne Major with a 2-0 victory against Aurora, who never looked like a legitimate threat against the high-flying Brazilians.
It’s now five wins in a row in Cologne for FURIA, who surpass their best-ever Major result, a semi-final run at the 2022 Major in Rio. All that separates them from the Cologne trophy — the third of Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo’s career — is now a best-of-five clash against Spirit or Falcons.

The biggest surprise in the veto was FURIA’s decision to begin Dust2, Aurora’s pick, on the T side, with Brazilian fans left questioning that move in the early stages of the game as the team picked up only two frags during a 0-3 run.
FURIA’s slow starts were a big talking point heading into the series, but Kaike “KSCERATO” Cerato made sure to buck that trend with four kills with a hero AK. He also pulled off an ace at the death of the half as FURIA picked up a 7-5 lead after a solid T display.
FURIA didn’t show any signs of slowing down on the CT side, even with FalleN going kill-less. They were in control from the get-go and never let Aurora get into their groove, with Danil “molodoy” Golubenko leading the charge with a 1.49 rating, three multi-kills, and a 110 ADR.
Worse — much worse —- was to come for Aurora, who lost control of Nuke after jumping out to a 3-0 start on the CT side. Despite winning nine opening duels, they could only muster four rounds as they gave up numerous man advantages, including two 5v3 situations.
The onslaught continued into the second half as FURIA kept a tight grip on proceedings, with KSCERATO hammering the final nail into Aurora’s coffin with a quad-kill.
