Mirra Andreeva secured her first Grand Slam title after beating qualifier Maja Chwalinska in the Roland Garros final.

After a tournament filled with shocks, there was no upset to be had in the championship match, with Andreeva beating Chwalinska in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

The clash got off to a nervy start, with neither star holding serve throughout the first four games, but as soon as the Russian got going, she couldn’t be stopped.

At 19, Andreeva became the youngest women’s singles Roland Garros champion since Monica Seles in 1992.

With the triumph, she has also now matched one of Iga Swiatek‘s all-time records.

Of all four majors, Andreeva has had by far the most success at Roland Garros, having reached at least the quarterfinals in each of her last three runs.

She made the semifinals in 2024, the last eight in 2025, and now she has finally clinched the title.

Her best result at a major outside of the French Open was a quarterfinal finish at Wimbledon during the 2025 season.

Sharapova won the 2004 Wimbledon championship at the age of 17 years and 63 days, beating Serena Williams to complete the feat.
