Joaquin Buckley couldn’t believe what he saw after watching his fight with Mike Malott.
Buckley battled Malott in the main event of UFC Edmonton on Saturday, and after a competitive first round, Malott ending up delivering a brutal knockout in the second to earn his fifth straight win, while Buckley suffered his third straight loss. The finishing blow ended with Malott throwing a kick, but ended up landing a vicious knee to the face of Buckley that send his oppponent face-first to the mat.
Following the bout, Buckley jumped on his new Kick channel to watch the knockout back. Watch the clip below.
“I ain’t ever been out like that, bro,” Buckley said. “Yeah. that shit sucked. …
“I’ve been knocked out before. I used to always say, ‘But I ain’t ever been slept though.’ That motherf*cker slept my ass.”
Heading into the bout, Buckley was coming off of back-to-back lopsided decision losses to former champion Kamaru Usman, and fellow contender Sean Brady. It was the first stoppage loss for Buckley in nearly four years — a second-round TKO loss against Chris Curtis at UFC 282 in December 2022.
