Despite releasing during an incredibly stacked month for gaming, The Blood of Dawnwalker has been a smashing success so far with millions of sales and positive reviews galore. Although the launch hasn’t been without a few performance hiccups or gameplay concerns, the breakout RPG has already set a high bar for the month alongside Onimusha: Way of the Sword.
Although many players are still enjoying the lengthy action RPG, its developers are apparently already using The Blood Of Dawnwalker’s success to get started on a brand-new sequel, with a LinkedIn post from its narrative director Jakub Szamalek spotted by PCGamer offering a tease at what’s to come.
The Blood Of Dawnwalker 2 Is Currently Hiring Developers
With the surprising announcement coming only 6 days after The Blood of Dawnwalker released, its narrative director shared that they are looking to hire a Lead Writer to help “craft the next chapter of the Dawnwalker saga.” Coming with some strict requirements of someone who “writes EXCEPTIONALLY well, has a track record of excellence and experience in team management,” its developers are looking for team members with the same veteran experience as themselves.
Although the job listing itself doesn’t have any details that give a hint at what The Blood of Dawnwalker’s sequel will actually entail that wasn’t already included in the first game, it does note that they’re looking for someone to work on “ensuring lore consistency and expanding our own, new IP.”
With The Blood of Dawnwalker already being one of the biggest RPGs of the year, there will likely be plenty of talented competition applying for the senior role to ensure the next entry in the series is just as exciting as the first.
The Announcement Isn’t A Total Surprise
While the announcement does feel incredibly fast considering how recently The Blood of Dawnwalker was released, its game director was already sharing their hopes for making several sequels months before it came out, while promising a feature similar to Mass Effect where your choices will transfer between games.
The same interviews similarly gave us a rough idea of what to expect regarding the setting of Dawnwalker’s sequels, with the ability to carry your save over allowing you to explore new eras, countries, cultures, and face new mythological creatures without erasing your decisions and experiences from previous entries in the franchise.
Even with The Blood of Dawnwalker‘s developers having already teased what the setting of its sequel could be in the finale of the game itself, there’s still plenty of settings and concepts for future entries to explore whilst building an engaging multi-entry narrative like its predecessors.
