Where To Find Every Skull In Halo: Campaign Evolved

Give & Take

Firing your weapon drains your shield, but dealing damage to enemies recharges it.

As soon as you have the objective to search for the lifeboat crash sites, one of the first flares you’ll come upon will be on the right side. Stand where the flare is, but before heading through the canyon on the right towards the crash site, head left and into a large cave tunnel with a river running through it. At the end of this tunnel, on the left side, there will be a small grassy area. Climb up on the rock next to this grassy area, and you’ll see the Skull floating near the edge of this rock. The Skull is not on the ground, so it can be easy to miss. I recommend turning on your flashlight.

Floor Is Lava

Take continuous damage when touching the “ground”

While you have the objective of eliminating hostiles at three crash sites, head to the closest one, marked by a red flare on the right side, as you’re driving up the hill. You’ll see an opening in the cliffside to drive through, where you’ll find several Marines hiding out among several large boulders in the middle of a small canyon area. After you deal with the enemies, climb up to the top of the rock formation where the pelican picks up the rescued marines. From that spot, jump over to your right, on top of the other large rock platform in this area. From there, head to the edge overlooking the lifeboat crash site, and then look towards the canyon path where you entered from and look down at the large rock below where you’re currently facing. The Skull is on top of the rock you are now looking at. It’s very easy to miss, so I suggest just hopping down if you don’t see it and walking over the rock until you get the prompt.

Grunt Funeral

Grunts die in a blaze of plasma.

While assisting at the crash sites, head to the furthest site, which is on the edge of a large cliff. The Marines will be hiding in an underground section of the main structure here when you arrive. Walk up the ramp to the main platform of the structure, then jump into the area where the blue beam emerges, and the structure is split up the middle. The Skull will be on an upper level of this structure (see photo) that you’ll need to use a grenade jump to reach. To do this, crouch on the lower ledge incline that you can reach by jumping, and then crouch and toss a grenade and use that to propel you higher when you jump to the larger incline on the other side. It will be at the top of this larger incline.

Iron

Dying in co-op resets you to your last checkpoint, dying while solo restarts the level.

Once you reach the area with the gravity lift that will lift you into the Covenant Battle Cruiser, you’ll be forced to face waves of enemies before you can actually use it. Once you defeat the last wave, two Hunters, more Marines will be dropped off, and you’re ready to use the lift. However, before you do, head to the area where the Marines were dropped off, and you should see a small light on the ground nearby. Head over to this light and jump onto the large rock to the left of it. This will allow you to inch over to the edge of the cliff, where you can peek over and spot a Skull sitting on a lower ledge. If you can’t get back up after picking up the Skull, reload your checkpoint after grabbing it. You’ll still see it there when you reload, but as long as you picked it up the first time, it’s in your collectibles.

Endurance Spec

UNSC Vehicles cannot be damaged.

Not long after boarding the Battle Cruiser, you’ll reach a large room with some broken wraiths and tons of Covenant enemies. You’ll enter on the second floor, but go ahead and deal with all the Covenant in the room because retrieving this Skull will likely take several attempts. Once they’re all gone, use one of the doors on the lower level to make your way back up to the top floor. At the top, look for the corner that has a purple container positioned near a ledge, with three pillars in front of it. The Skull is on the third pillar, and you’ll need to jump across the first two to reach it. Use the purple container to make the first jump. This is very tricky. If you move even a little after landing on the pillar, you’ll likely fall. If you do fall, use the door directly below the purple container to get back up to the top floor.

Foreign

Players cannot use weapons from another faction.

After leaving the first big room where the second Skull was, you’ll reach a large hangar room with a shield wall. It will immediately fill with covenant, but make a hard right upon entering the room, and you should see a door in the distance that enemies will come through. Run over there and through the door before it closes behind the enemies*. It will only open to let enemies out, so time it when they’re coming out, or you’ll miss it. Once you’re through the door, turn left and go all the way down the hall. At the end of the hall, before you turn left to exit the hallway, you should see the skull sitting on the floor in front of you near the wall.

Bandana

Infinite Ammo and Grenades

Not long after you start the mission, you’ll face several enemies on the beach as you make your way to find the Silent Cartographer and identify Halo’s control center. Your objective will lead you to the first building of this mission, where you need to clear the landing zone, and once you deal with the enemies right outside the entrance, don’t head inside just yet. If you look to the right of the entrance, you should see a cave in the cliffside. Head inside to the middle of this cave where the sun comes through the top. The skull will be sitting right in the middle of this sunlit area. It’s extremely easy to miss since it blends in, but it will prompt you if you walk over it.

Acrophobia

The Corps: Now issuing rifles AND wings…

After you get locked out of gaining access to the Silent Cartographer, Cortana will instruct you to find an override for the system’s security. While following your objective marker to the center of the island, you’ll pass through an outdoor area with a structure and two Hunters. Kill them, and then climb up the structure in this area to find a Skull at the top, where it connects to the island, on the right side. It doesn’t matter how you get up there, as long as you do. I managed to do so by using one of the objects in this area to help me inch up the side of it, and once I was as high as I could get, I crouched, tossed a grenade at my feet, and used it to give me the extra boost I needed when jumping to the top of the platform.

Hip Fire

All weapon zoom functionality is disabled.

Once you’ve overridden the security and are on your way to finding and activating the Silent Cartographer, you’ll fight through several floors of enemies on your way down. After you finish the second floor, you’ll take a brightly lit stairway down to the third, but before you head down, stop at the very top of this staircase and peek over the edge to your left. You should see a small platform below with the Skull sitting on it. Drop onto the platform to collect it.

IWHBYD

It would have been your dialogue. This one was also known as ‘I Would Have Been Your Daddy’ in other Halo games. It adds random, funny dialogue lines to the game.

Not long after you pick up the Scorpion Tank, you’ll reach an area with a large bridge. There will be several enemies, turrets, and a few Hunters you’ll need to deal with here. Once all the enemies are dead, drive the tank across the bridge to the other side and go all the way to the far left. There will be a wall of snow and ice there with a small hole. The Skull can be seen sitting inside the hole in this ice wall. Park the tank close enough that you can use it to help you jump up and grab the skull.

Angry

Enemies fire their weapons faster and more frequently.

Once you reach a small outdoor area with a structure in the center that has three arches going across the top, climb up the one on the end to find a Skull sitting on top.

Cowbell

Physics mass of objects is reduced, making them more easily displaced.

After you reach the outdoor area where Cortana tells you to grab one of the Covenant’s Banshees, head up the small ramp immediately after reaching this area and look over the right edge. There will be a lower metal platform there that you can jump down onto. Once you do, make a 180, and you should see the Skull sitting on a snowy rock in the center.

Fog

Motion Tracker is disabled.

At the start of the mission, while you’re still outside, look for the large crashed ship. There will be a large tree to the left of it, that you’ll need to climb the hill beside. At the top of the small hill, look right and climb up some rocks and roots to the base of the tree there. Once you’re beside the base of the tree, turn left, and you should see the Skull resting on a ledge there. Turn your flashlight on while searching for this one.

That’s Just… Wrong

Enemies have increased awareness of the player.

As you progress, the mission will eventually lead you to a spot where a Marine can be seen freaking out about the Flood. He’s impossible to miss because he’s right on the other side of the door, but to collect the Skull, you’ll unfortunately need to kill him. He will drop the Skull once he’s dead.

They Come Back

Flood Combat Forms reanimated by Infection Forms are much more dangerous.

At the end of the mission, when you’re back outside in the rain, flip on your flashlight and progress until you reach the large metal structure that Sentinels will be flying out of. Go around the right side of it and keep walking forward until you see a thin fallen tree hanging above an open path. Climb up to the left side of the tree, then walk across it, and hop down onto the rock on the other side, where you’ll find the Skull.

Tilt

Enhances both positive and negative damage multipliers. Ex: Plasma does even more damage against shields, but even less damage against health.

Not long after the start of the mission, you’ll reach a door where you need to wait for 343 Guilty Spark to open it for you. After he opens that door, he’ll make a comment about the next one being blocked. Head down the path to the right of the locked door, and deal with the Flood. When you reach the next room, 343 Guilty Spark will say, “Oh, you did survive! How delightful!” and you’ll have more enemies to deal with. Once everything is dead,climb up the incline platform that is immediately to the left of the door you came out of when facing it.

Pop

Shooting Flood in their weak point causes them to explode.

While you’re waiting for 343 Guilty Spark to unlock the second door of the mission for you, face the door and make a complete 180. From this view, you should see the Skull directly ahead. To reach it, you’ll need to climb up the metal inclines on either side and then jump to the middle pillar and finally to the platform the Skull is on.

Famine

Weapons dropped by enemies contain half the ammo they normally would.

After coming down the third elevator, 343 Guilty Spark will direct you to follow it, and you’ll have three paths to take. They all end up in the same place, but the center one that is directly across from the elevator goes down and through a flesh-covered doorway, so take that one. As soon as you go through the doorway, go immediately left to a dead end of organic Flood material. The skull is sitting on the floor among the flesh (it may be hard to see because it blends in).

Tough Luck

Enemies always go berserk, constantly dive out of the way, and rarely run away from a fight.

At the start of the mission, as soon as you reach the first outdoor area, Cortana will tell you to take control of one of the Covenant’s Banshees. Fight your way to the ground to grab it, but before you continue, fly up and back in the direction of the start of the mission, where you entered this area from. There will be a large pillar there with a blue beam inside of it. Begin flying up, along this pillar, until you reach a little ledge sticking out of the front. The Skull is at the end of this ledge, so you’ll need to land here to collect it. If you fly too high, you’ll get the out-of-bounds warning, so be careful.

Black Eye

Your shields will only recharge when you melee enemies.

After you exit the building with the first pulse generator, you’ll be on the ground floor of the canyon. There will be a ghost on the ground with some covenant around it. Kill them and take the Ghost. In the same immediate area, there’s a structure in the middle with three arches going across a gap. Go down inside, on the right, and come out on the other side of the structure. Once you’re on the left side of the structure, make a right and go all the way to the wall there, where you’ll find a path leading through some of the Flood material. The Skull will be in the area where this path ends, floating above a small patch of snow. Use your flashlight to spot it more easily.

Mythic

Enemies have increased health.

After you destroy the second pulse generator, go back out to your Banshee and instead of following the objective down, fly straight ahead to the platform on the other side of the canyon. Go through the door where you’ll face several rooms full of difficult enemies. Defeat all of them, and you’ll eventually reach a dead end with what appears to be an already destroyed generator. The skull will be sitting right in the center of the destroyed generator.

Catch

Enemies throw and drop more grenades.

** This Skull has specific requirements to spawn. Players must be on either Heroic or Legendary difficulty, and ascend the Grav Lift in a specific amount of time (under 2 minutes and 30 seconds seems to be a good time, but others have said under 3 minutes will also allow it to spawn). Additionally, certain Skulls will prevent it from spawning, so it’s best to turn them all off. ** This Skull is available very early on in the mission. As you make your way to the Ship’s Bridge, you’ll reach an area where you need to fight off enemies near a Grav Lift. Kill the Covenant in this area and use the Grav Lift. Now, there is some debate over how exactly this Skull works. Some believe the Skull needs to be caught while taking the Grav Lift, in which case you can hold down the button you would normally press to pick up a Skull while in the Grav Lift. That said, I’ve found that as long as you make it up the Grav Lift in the time limit, the Grav Lift doors will catch it for you, and it will just be sitting on the floor when you land. Just make sure all the requirements mentioned above are met.

Blind

Gets rid of the HUD

Shortly after you get on the ship, you’ll enter a large room where Cortana will mention that the Flood are gathering bodies in the corners of the room. You’ll enter the room on a balcony and need to fight the Flood on the lower floor in the middle of the room. Once you finish that, there will be a massive door on the ground floor. If you enter it, you’ll see that it appears to be blocked off, but you can jump over the blockage near the broken wraith. Keep going, and you’ll come to a large locked door, where you’ll find the skull sitting in the bottom left corner of the locked door.

Pinata

Punching enemies makes them drop inert grenades.

After you find Captain Keyes and watch the cutscene, clear the room of all enemies. Once that’s done, you’ll unfortunately need to start (melee) hitting Captain Keyes body until it drops the Skull. Make sure you’re close enough that you actually feel like you’re getting feedback from the hits. The Skull will drop underneath him, and you should see the prompt when it pops out.

Stowed Reload

Weapons continue to reload while stowed.

As you make your way to engineering, you’ll be led through a room of Cryo Pods near where you originally started the entire game. It looks similar to the room Master Chief wakes up in during The Pillar of Autumn, but it’s actually the room across the hall from Master Chief’s original cryo room. Once you’re in this room, head to the back left corner, where the fire is. You’ll probably be able to see the Skull already, as it’s sitting on a broken ledge against the back wall. You can jump up and grab it, but if you’re having trouble, then you can also climb up the nearby broken catwalk and jump over to collect it.

Boom

Explosion radium is increased by 2x.

Once you reach the room with the Cores that you need to destroy, you’ll enter from one of two doors. Regardless of which door you came through, head all the way to the right side of the room and up the ramp there. At the top, head to the back side of the room and through a door on the right wall that will take you up. Once you emerge onto an upper platform, there should be a door on the left that will take you even higher. At the top of that pathway, you should be on some upper walkways that you’ll need to walk straight across. At the end of that path, look over the edge, and you’ll see some debris on a lower platform. Drop onto that and then onto the narrow gray platform right beneath it, where you’ll see the Skull tucked into a tight spot.

Thunderstorm

Upgrades the rank of most enemies.

Once you reach the end of the mission where you need to escape on the Warthog, you’ll be driving down a path that will have a couple of brightly lit shortcut tunnels on the right side. Take the second shortcut tunnel and stop midway in. The Skull will be sitting on the ground on the right side of this shortcut tunnel.

Malfunction

Upon respawn a random element of your HUD no longer appears.

You can actually see this Skull at the start of the mission if you know it’s there, but you can’t reach it yet. After you and Johnson defeat the two Hunters in the Hangar, don’t go up the Grav Lift just yet. Instead, keep going past where the Hunters were and down the ramp on the other side. From here, you can either go through the door on your left and follow the path down, or jump over the ledge to the right where the docked covenant ship is. Either way, head to the door on the other side of the ship, which will lead you back to the room you were in at the start of the game. The Skull will be sitting in the middle of the path that runs across this area.

Johnny Ammo Seed

When reloading you lose the ammo remaining in the discarded clip.

Once you reach the Covenant training room with the sand on the ground and a purple beam above you, make your way up to the second level and enter either of the doors directly above where you originally entered the room. This will lead you to a new platform with a section that makes a circle. On this circular path, the Skull will be sitting in the middle of the path.

Leadhead

Headshots no longer provide extra damage or instant kills.

Not long after you begin encountering Brutes, you’ll reach a room with a large Grav Lift in the middle that will take you up, but don’t take it yet. Surrounding the Grav Lift, there will be three doors from which the enemies will enter the room. Take the one on the left of the Grav Lift and head down the corridor, where you’ll find the Skull floating at a dead end.

Tempermental

Allies will attack the player more quickly if the player kills a friendly.

**This Skull requires you to shoot a High Value Target (Golden Elite) three separate times for it to spawn.** Once you reach the first set of doors on your way to the prison entrance, you’ll be in an area with Jackals in the trees. In the distance, you’ll also be able to see a mostly golden Elite watching the fight, but not engaging. Shoot this Elite once, and they will leave the area. This Elite will appear again once you reach the entrance area with a bridge and a Wraith at the end. They’ll be right near the entrance door. Shoot them again, and again they’ll leave the area. Finally, you’ll see this Elite one last time after you exit the prison. When you’re back outside, look up on your left, and you’ll see it standing there on a ledge of the purple Covenant structure. Shoot this Elite one final time. After shooting the Elite for the third time, clear this outdoor area outside the Prison exit and then approach the main structure in the center of this area. The Skull will be floating inside.

Recession

Every shot expends twice the normal amount of ammo.

Once you reach the area to the prison entrance that has a long bridge with a Wraith at the end, there will be a large doorway to your right. The two flames on either side of the doorway will have explosives in them that you will need to either shoot or toss grenades at. Once both have been hit, the Skull will appear just inside the door, on the ground.

Ghost

Enemies no longer flinch when taking fire.

After exiting the Prison and passing through the two gates, you’ll go through a short tunnel of sorts and exit another door. Once outside this door, jump onto the rocky ledge immediately to your left. From there, use a grenade jump to launch yourself up onto the pillar of the door where the fire is. The Skull is sitting inside the flame. Alternatively, if you’re in co-op, you can jump on another player to reach it.

Eye Patch

All auto-aim is disabled for all weapons.

As you progress through the mission, you’ll eventually reach a small area with two parallel catwalk platforms. The intended path is straight ahead, but take the door on the left to reach the smaller platform and go all the way to the end to find the Skull on the right side of the door.

Grunt Birthday Party

Grunt headshots produce legendary celebrations.

As you progress through the mission, you’ll eventually come to a large room with several levels and tall rocky plant-covered pillars. At the top of one of the tall rocky pillars, you’ll be able to see the skull floating. To reach it, head to the large circular platform in the center of this area and then jump up onto the purple brazier-like part of the platform. From there, jump to the lower rocky pillar, and then finally to the top pillar with the Skull to collect it.

Efficient

Enemies killed while the player is at full health drop more ammo.

At the end of the mission, when you’re riding on the moving platform through areas with waves of enemies firing down on you, you’ll eventually reach an area with two identical platforms on either side of the floating platform. This is towards the end of your ride on this platform, not at the beginning. So if you don’t see the Skull, you probably got off in the wrong area. Look for the two platforms on either side as shown in the image reference, which will be after the platform has had to make stops to deal with enemies. Once you see these platforms, get off on the left one as soon as possible and make a run for the far back right corner where the locked door is. The moving platform will not stop. The Skull is sitting on the right side of the locked door. You will technically be out of bounds, so you need to do this in under 10 seconds or you’ll die.

Randomizes the enemy factions present in the mission.

Randomizes the pre-placed weapons throughout the mission.

Enemy factions never fight one another.
