Scotland and Morocco will face one another at the World Cup tonight in the second round of Group C matches.
A win would all but guarantee progress to the knockout stages for Scotland, but they won’t find it easy against one of their group’s favourites.

Experienced Uzbek referee to take charge of tonight’s fixture
In the middle for the clash between Scotland and Morocco is Uzbek referee Ilgiz Tantashev.
He has plenty of experience in the Asian Champions League and has even refereed a high-profile Morocco fixture before, when he took charge of their Olympic semi-final against Spain in 2024.

Tantashev will be in control of his first ever World Cup fixture tonight.
However, he will not be the first Uzbek referee to take charge of a World Cup game, with Ravshan Irmatov actually the record holder for the greatest number of World Cup matches refereed, with 11 games between 2010 and 2018.
Two more Uzbek officials will join Tantashev this evening, with Andrey Tsapenko and Timur Gaynullin assisting from the touchlines.
Adham Makhadmeh from Jordan will be the fourth official, while fellow Jordanian Mohammad Al-Khalaf will be reserve assistant referee.
Armando Villarreal from the United States has been appointed Video Assistant Referee.
A win for Scotland tonight would all but guarantee a spot in the knockout stages, while Morocco would still have work to do in their final group match after their draw against Brazil.
A defeat would still leave both sides in with a chance to progress to the next stage of the competition, with the eight best third place finishers progressing.
The fixture will be shown live on both ITV1 and STV in the UK, free to watch, and kicks off at 11pm.
