WWE has re-signed a number of ex-stars over the past year, including Matt Cardona and Big Cass, but it seems that one name that won’t be returning to his former company is Enzo Amore.
Despite rumors that Enzo was heading back to WWE, it seems that Big Cass’ return may not have followed a plan to bring back his tag team partner. When asked on his Fightful Select Answers report, Sean Ross Sapp noted that Amore has not re-signed with the company, and it’s unclear if there is a plan for him to re-sign at all.
Thanks for the submission!
Big Cass has already returned and been on RAW for several weeks, but he hasn’t been able to make the impact that was expected of him.
Will Enzo Amore return to WWE?
Amore was a controversial name for a long time after he was released by WWE because of criminal accusations. While this was never proven, it seems that this was why the company distanced itself from him for a long time.
There is no real reason why Amore can’t be re-signed now, but it’s unclear if the former Cruiserweight Champion has creative plans at present.
Sapp’s report notes that it is Amore who wants to return, and he has been pushing for this chance, but Cass’ booking doesn’t seem to be heading in a direction where he would need a partner.
Cass and Amore were two of the most popular names in the company at one point, and their releases did come as a huge shock. That being said, Cass doesn’t appear to be booked the way he was expected to be when he made his return.
Baron Corbin was also someone who made their return recently, but it seems that he has been booked much better than Cass and Matt Cardona, who is currently sidelined through injury.
WWE has had a lot of changes to its roster and to its main shows over the past few months, but many storylines don’t appear to be having the desired effect on both RAW and SmackDown, so it will be interesting to see if the company makes any changes.
