PGL Bucharest 2027 has landed all 14 of its direct invitees, leaving just two places to fill before its 16-team field is complete. The tournament runs from January 17–24 in Romania, with the final spots decided by an eight-team closed qualifier; HLTV reported the accepted invitations and event details.
That is a serious opening field for the 2027 Counter-Strike calendar, not a list missing half its headliners. Bucharest’s dates, prize money and invite structure give fans an early reason to circle the January stretch, which also features the 2027 Counter-Strike calendar.
A stacked LAN, with two seats still open
The event will be played as a LAN in PGL’s Bucharest studio. Its prize pool is $1 million, with another $400,000 available in VRS bonuses, while the invitations were based on October’s invitational ranking.
The 14 confirmed invitees are Spirit, Vitality, G2, FURIA, Aurora, BETBOOM, B8, Legacy, MOUZ, Falcons, FUT, Astralis, MIBR and Nemiga. That is a broad mix of established trophy hunters and teams looking to turn a high-profile invitation into a statement run.
The closed qualifier is scheduled for October 16–20 and will feature eight teams fighting over the last two Bucharest tickets. The resulting field should have plenty of familiar firepower, though qualification gives outsiders a chance to crash the party rather than simply admire the guest list from home.

January calendar clash is already looming
Bucharest will overlap with BLAST Bounty, which is scheduled in Malta from January 11–24. Its second week coincides with PGL’s event, creating a direct scheduling clash for teams considering both tournaments.
HLTV reported that the top teams prioritized Bucharest over Bounty, while BLAST’s invite list was due the following month and would use November’s invitational ranking. BLAST had also announced in March that it would remove the online portion of its 2027 tournament and cut the field from 32 teams to 16.
Qualifier comes before the January show
The immediate next step is the October 16–20 closed qualifier, which will settle the final two places and complete the 16-team lineup. After that, the attention shifts to Bucharest, where the accepted invites have already ensured that the tournament starts with a heavyweight core rather than a diluted one.
PGL Bucharest 2027 begins on January 17 and concludes on January 24. With a million-dollar prize pool, VRS bonuses and 14 direct invitees already locked in, the remaining qualifier slots are the last pieces of a field built to make the season opener count.
