NASCAR has officially revealed the schedule for the opening weeks of the 2027 Cup Series season, bringing back a more Speedweeks format at the historic Daytona International Speedway. The announcement has sparked plenty of discussion among fans, with many liking the return of familiar traditions while others questioned whether the schedule truly revives the spirit of Speedweeks.
The biggest talking point is The Clash has returned to Daytona, where the preseason exhibition race will be held for the first time since 2021, when it was last run on the road course configuration. It is followed by the official season opening, the Daytona 500.
Thanks for the submission!
Bob Pockrass shared the Daytona schedule for the 2027 season on X, and fans were quick to react, with many fans sharing their thoughts about the Clash returning to Daytona.
Here are some of the fans’ reactions:
“So Speedweek is back for real???? Now let’s. bring the all-star race back to CHARLOTTE” one fan wrote.
“Clash needs to stay at Daytona for eternity. No Los Angeles, no Bowman Gray, stays right here.” another said.
“Daytona should not be the cutoff race for the chase was hoping that would get fixed” a third fan commented.
“Man yall begged for the clash back, got it and are still whining” another wrote.
“So teams fly down on Saturday, go race, then fly home and return Wednesday. It’s no different then what they have done the last few years, the idea of speedweeks is dead. The fact we aren’t expanding the sport with that date is shocking.” a fifth fan said.
