Andrey Rublev and Mirra Andreeva are just two wins away from winning the US Open Mixed Doubles title.
Rublev and Andreeva, both from Russia, began their US Open Mixed Doubles campaign by beating defending champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
Rublev and Andreeva triumphed 1-4, 4-1, 11-9 over the Italian duo.

The Russian duo then knocked out Diana Shnaider and Casper Ruud, winning 4-1, 4-5, 10-5.
After beating Shnaider and Ruud, Rublev reflected on his partner’s performances in New York.

“The first set we played great, and we were just unlucky a couple of times,” Andreeva, who won her first major title at the French Open earlier this year, said in her on-court interview following the pair’s quarter-final victory.
“I just had so much fun playing with Andrey,” she continued. “I think we played great today.
“I am so happy that he took the initiative at the end of the tiebreak, as I was super stressed and he hit so many great shots.
“Thanks to him for leading the doubles today. I am super happy with the win.”
Rublev then offered his own analysis of their performances, heavily praising his partner’s level.
“First of all, I’m very lucky to have Mirra because today she played unbelievable,” the Russian stated.
“She won all the most important points, she was amazing at the net. They were hitting her and she was defending, all the ball bringing back, playing amazing winners.

“When you have a partner like this, the easiest job you can do is don’t miss and I was able to miss anyway. But we played really great and I’m happy to be part of this.”
Andreeva later added: “I have never said anything or told him anything, but I used to have a little crush on him as well!
“It’s like a dream come true to play with my favourite player!”
Who will Mirra Andreeva and Andrey Rublev play next?
The pair will play Czech twosome Jakub Mensik and Karolina Muchova in Wednesday’s semi-final match.
Mensik and Muchova defeated Kristina Mladenovic and Marcelo Arevalo, and Emma Navarro and Tommy Paul en route to the last four.
Last year, Rublev competed in the event alongside Muchova. The duo reached the quarter-finals, where they were knocked out by eventual champions Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.
The winner of Mensik and Muchova versus Rublev and Andreeva will play either Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils or Belinda Bencic and Flavio Cobolli in the US Open Mixed Doubles final.
The semi-finals and final are set to be contested later on Wednesday.
Following the event’s conclusion, fans will have to wait until August 30 for the US Open singles main draws to begin.
